Black Swan Tiara

A customer contacted me on Etsy and requested that I make a Black Swan inspired tiara for her Halloween costume, and I happily obliged, as it gave me the change to use black-colored items I had laying around, and the idea of a ballet-type tiara meant that I made a tiara that responds well to the wearer's movement.
Each rhinestone charm and faceted black bead is dangling from wire festoons that I fashioned out of a dark wire. With every little movement the rhinestones sparkle and dazzle, creating a breath-taking effect.
The rhinestones seem to float and sparkle when worn.

Pink Gold Vintage Jewels Tiara

I have always loved vintage and antique jewelry, but after years of buying vintage clip on earrings at thrift sales and antique stores, realized that I wasn't wearing these gems because I had pierced ears. As a result, I had all these beautiful earrings tucked away, never worn and hardly looked at. So when I reopened my Etsy shop, I decided to start making tiaras using these bits and baubles, and this tiara is completely composed of vintage pieces.
I decided to stick to a pink and gold theme, and this tiara is so delicate and cute, it can easily be worn as a headband any day, or for a special occasion, such as prom, a wedding, or Halloween.

Solid Gold Crown

I had so many gold jewelry bits laying about, I wanted to use as many as I could on this tiara, which is all gold. The centerpiece is a star, surrounded by two enameled crescent moons, which used to be earrings. Gold discs finish off the design on either end. A beaded gold chain is at the base of the tiara, with a gold ribbon wrapped around the wire frame to protect the wearer's head. This tiara reminds me a little bit of the crescent tiara in the possession of the British Royal Family.

Impressively Jeweled Yellow and Orange Rhinestone Tiara

I just got finished making this tiara, and I am so proud with how it turned out! The centerpiece used to be a hair ornament that I always loved but never wore much, so I decided to turn it into a tiara. The orange rhinestone bits are from earrings that I also wasn't wearing. The flowers are quite nice vintage ear clips, and they each have a little yellow rhinestone in the middle!
The tiara itself is a touch top heavy because of the large rhinestone centerpiece!

New Gold Floral Tiara in my Shop!

This was a tiara my sister made years ago, and reflects the tiaras of old that were completely made out of silver leaves, which brides wore to get married in. I have taken it upon myself to spray paint this entire piece gold, and then spray a protective resin varnish on top to protect this piece from scratches. This tiara is fairly lightweight, and looks absolutely beautiful when worn. I imagine this tiara would go well with cosplay, Halloween, proms, and most definitely weddings. Amazingly, the leaves and flowers are made from the metal from toothpaste tubes. Funnily enough, I don't think that the brand that these came from, Tom's of Maine, makes their toothpaste tubes from metal anymore!

My own private collection of tiaras...

I have my own collection of tiaras I've made that contain too many sentimental items on them, and I can't sell them. I have no doubt that if I tried, I could sell them quite easily.
This is a tiara that I made using all my favorite brooches, beads, and small toys. There's a mini Elmo on there, a Disney Princesses key, and even a princess Polly Pocket. The centerpiece is an antique cameo brooch/pendant. This piece is extremely heavy, and I have never worn it for any occasion. It's my pretty art piece!
This is what I refer to as my "Candy Tiara". This one also has a mini Elmo, and a Yoshi pin, a Hello Kitty charm, and fluorescent beads. The centerpiece was an old key chain, it is an acrylic-encased real spider and actually glows in the dark. I have worn this tiara over a hat, as it is not very comfortable when worn directly on the head.
This is my "Alice Tiara", as I made it very recently to go with my Alice costume, from the recent Alice in Wonderland movie. It reminds me very much of the sort of tiara that the prima ballerina would wear for a ballet. It has a metal frame onto which contemporary earrings have been attached, and the metal swirly designs are from a bracelet. This tiara is lightweight, and cute to wear, as it is very tall, but not very wide.
This is another heavy creation, composed of aluminum wire, buttons, and keys. I also added maroon aurora crystals as an accent around the base, and I think I must not have had silver wire, as I used gold wire to attach everything together.
This is also an Alice in Wonderland inspired tiara. My sister made this and gave it to me as a gift for my twentieth birthday. The centerpiece is a heart cut out of matte board, painted red, and then wired to the front is a vintage watch face that belonged to my great grandmother. The two black diamond sidepieces are also painted matte board, and my sister painstakingly affixed rhinestones by hand to the entire design. Three northern flicker feathers have been artfully trimmed and decorated, and made into a sort of trefoil design.

My Etsy shop is up and running again!

After a 6-month hiatus from selling items on Etsy, I have new and fresh ideas, and more items will begin to appear soon in my shop. Check out a tiara I made last night:

This is the style I want to start focusing on. I mixed vintage odds and ends of other jewelry, and wired it to a handmade tiara frame. I focused on the color blue for this piece, and mixed silver metal with it, giving it a bright, crisp look. It fits comfortably on the head, and the wire band is wrapped in cerulean blue ribbon, protecting the wearer's head from the metal band.
