Black Swan

I finally made another Black Swan tiara! I only made two last Halloween, but they were bought out of my Etsy shop within a week of posting them! I am trying to get ahead on Halloween now, and as I have this week off from school, I am working hard to produce some good quality tiaras!

This tiara is fairly similar to another I made. This one is a sort of wire "leafy skeleton" design, coated in mod podge (my favorite art supply!) and painted in matte black acrylic paint. Six small rhinestone charms adorn either side of the tiara, and an acrylic rhinestone sits in the middle.

My pink Empress/Quail Tuft/Egyptian Pharaoh Tiara! The centerpiece is a  glass pendant, and a thin pink wire decorates the black scrolling designs, as well as the base of the tiara.

New Black Tiara and more!

Selling on Etsy is alright, it just is sort of a shame when I do sell anything, because I then have to pay both Etsy and PayPal fees from the sale. And Etsy is supposed to be a site where everything being sold is in one of three categories: Handmade, Vintage (20 years old or older), or a Supply. I know as well as you that quite a lot of stuff on Etsy is not handmade, but sellers often lie and say that they handmade everything. Rest assured, I ACTUALLY do hand make everything I sell, and if you've ever read my descriptions I include with my item listings, you will know that I disclose everything on how I made the tiara and out of what! Just as a heads up,  before purchasing something on Etsy that looks too beautiful and perfect to be handmade for such an inexpensive (or oftentimes, extremely expensive) price, check out www.regretsy.com. This site could help you NOT make a bad purchase on Etsy. Etsy needs better monitoring of their own site and all the stuff that is being sold.
This is a fun child's tiara, made by my sister for a friend's daughter.

Because we hand make the tiara frames and bands  out of wire, they can be easily adjusted to fit any sized-head.

A gothic arch, Black Swan inspired tiara. Clear sea glass is suspended in each arch way, and black seed beads and gray stone beads border the upper and lower arches.

It looks absolutely beautiful when worn!

This was a tiara I previously posted on here, but I was never very happy with the design, so I added  acrylic bead-topped pins in between every crystal heart and pearl, and the piece is extremely elegant now.

Hearts and Stars

I love stars, they've always been one of my favorite motifs in jewelry. This is my second star tiara. It is made from polymer clay, silver star sequins, sparkly paint, and wire.

I adore Alice in Wonderland and especially the Red Queen, or the Queen of Hearts. This is my third Queen-of-Hearts-inspired tiara. I created this one as a small comb, made from wire, ribbon, polymer clay, and spray paint.

This petite Queen of Hearts comb fits securely into a high ponytail or bun.

A sparkling halo of small silver stars!

Flowers, Gold, and Vintage

My sister made this tiara. It is composed of a wire mesh "ribbon" adorned with vintage earrings. The whole piece has been thoroughly sprayed in metallic gold spray paint, and then coated in a protective varnish.

Another piece my sister made. This tiara is made from silvertone vintage items, including keys, old buttons, a watch where the face has been removed, and aurora rhinestone beads have been added in its place, vintage earrings, and an old compass pendant.

A close up of the above tiara. Despite its modern elements, it has a very classical look to it, and is very beautiful when worn.

A sparkling gold silk leaf tiara. As always, I am enamored by elves and fantasy, and this is another of my forays into fantasy costume accessories.

The tiara is extremely lightweight, and comes complete with a handmade gold comb, to allow it to be secure in your hair.

This is one of my favorite tiaras of all time that I have created. I used high-quality purple silk hydrangea flowers that are sprinkled in glitter. Matching sparkly leaves adorn the base of the tiara. My more ingenious addition is the rhinestone elements I have added to the center of each flower.

The finished tiara is so beautiful, the composition worked so perfectly. This tiara would be great for fairy, elf, or princess costumes, or for Easter, or even for weddings!

A simple but sweet design, made simply from black wire, aurora rhinestone heart charms, faux pearls, and a metallic silver ribbon that has been wrapped around the base.

Pearl Spikes, Gold Halos, and Silver Trinkets

The black allows for it to be nearly invisible on the wearer's head.
The Silver Trinket tiara, made by my sister. Silver-tone trinkets, including a small hand, keys, a heart charm, and 2 watch faces, adorn a wire frame. The base is wrapped is sparkling black ribbon.
A tiara of more classical design, made to look like Pearl spikes.
My pearl spike tiara. It is imitating Pearl Spike tiaras, where I have made oriental pear pearl shapes coming out of the tiara frame, and I have painted them an opalescent white with just a hint of pale blue. The base is wrapped in aluminum foil, and spray-painted gold. Simple but very elegant.
This is my "Princess Victoria Russian Spike Tiara". Every royal family owns at least one spike, or kokoshnik, tiara, and this one is my interpretation of the one often worn by the Crown Princess of Sweden. It is composed of polymer clay, with strategically placed holes which allowed me to string all the spikes together. They are attached on top of a wire frame, and the whole piece has been sprayed gold. Silver star sequins adorn the fronts of the spikes, making them twinkle and shine like diamonds!
This tiara looks even more awesome when it is worn! The gold-tone wire keeping it all together is barely noticeable, and it makes for a very regal appearance.

New Tiaras for a New Year!

Me wearing a delicate brass butterfly bandeau tiara.
A gold and blue metallic ribbon connects three brass butterflies, and a goldtone and cubic zirconia chain is laced around the ribbon. A white and gold cord is attached at either end, allowing the wearer to tie the bandeau securely onto their head with a bow.
The bandeau/tiara/headband can be worn across the forehead, or on top on the head the way you would wear a headband.
A gold brass lioness oval charm surround by two brass zig-zag charms. They are all connected with wire, and the wire has been wrapped in ribbon, with ribbon at either end to allow the wearer to tie the headband on securely with a bow.
When I see anything glittery, I instantly want it, and I was so excited when I found then sparkling green craft leaves. This tiara would be perfect for a mermaid, elf, or fairy costume, or for that crazy Christmas Party.
Opalescent pearls peek out from between the sparkling green leaves. A green and silver ribbon is wrapped around the base of the tiara.

Seven Star Struck

The crown princess of the Netherlands, Princess Maxima, got married in a beautiful diamond star tiara. I wanted to make my own "diamond" star tiara, and this is how it turned out.
Each star is made from wire, and using a hot glue gun, I filled in each star. I painted each star with sparkling silver paint, and then affixed silver star sequins to them. The band is wrapped in ribbon, painted black, and sparkling silver glitter paint was painted on top.
Seven stars, because 7 is a very magical number, both for Harry Potter wizards and for artists!

Rustic Flora

I am fascinated that the tiara practically matches my hair color, at least in this picture. This is a rather grand piece, very large, but because it is in brown shades, it doesn't stand out quite so much as a red or gold colored tiara. It is composed quite simply out of wire, silk flowers, and beads. The whole piece was sprayed in dark bronze metallic paint, and I hand-painted gold/orange acrylic paint on top to bring out the details of the silk flowers and decorative beads.
Its slightly asymmetrical look evokes the essence of a woodland fairy sprite, flitting from tree to tree, hiding from enemies and finding luscious berries to eat.

Diadème des Cœurs

The Queen of Hearts, She made some Tarts...
This is a simpler, and certainly more symmetrical version of another of my Queen of Hearts tiaras. This one utilizes hot glue rather than epoxy, and each heart is painted in red acrylic paint and mod podge for a beautiful, high gloss. I have a feeling that this tiara won't sell until next Halloween, unless someone needs a tiara for Valentine's Day!
It is nice and large, and very flamboyant. Perfect for standing out of the crowd, which we should all strive to do sometimes, if not all the time.

Queen Alexandra: Best Queen Ever!

My favorite royal ever is Queen Alexandra of Great Britain and Ireland. She was the most elegant, beautiful woman, and could wear yards of pearls and diamonds without looking vulgar and bourgeois. She aged ridiculously well, and even at her coronation, when she was in her fifties, she looked as beautiful as ever. This tiara is inspired by a circlet of hers that she wore with and without a sort of celtic knotwork design that would be attached between each fleur-de-lys ornament. I of course added my own personal touch, and put oriental pearl spikes surmounting each fleur-de-lys, and and "pearl and diamond" cluster between each element.
Queen Alexandra in her original tiara, wearing the huge rows of diamonds and pearls she used to cover a scar on her neck.

Mermaid Tiara!!!

I had another mermaid tiara that sold before Halloween. Most people who viewed my Etsy shop in the month of October were mostly looking for Black Swan Tiaras and Mermaid Crowns. I think by next Halloween I will have a very nice stock of tiaras that fit those descriptions, and since "mermaid" and "black swan" are more ideas than exact tiara designs, I find it quite fun to make tiaras based on those ideas! This tiara has real shells on it, and the whole piece is spray painted with dark bronze paint, and then I hand painted a gold/orange paint on top, which brings out the infinite detail of each shell. The finished piece looks like a bronze-casted tiara rather than a tiara made from organic shells, netting and wire!
The little mermaid in her own Moondust Jewels, one-of-a-kind tiara. I love posing for tiara pics, even though I am selling them, I get to wear them for at least a little while, and I am able to feel like a princess for atleast a couple of minutes!

Rainbows, Pinks and Reds to Brighten the Day!

I made this tiara quite a long time ago. It is based off a type of tiara called a kokoshnik, fringe, halo, or spike tiara. Mine isn't composed of platinum and diamonds, but rather I used matte board which I cute into little spike shapes, attached wire to each piece, and then wrapped each piece in aluminum foil. I attached everything to a wire band onto which I threaded aluminum foil beads. The entire piece has been painted in magenta acrylic paint, and then artfully splattered with pink and black paint. I love this piece so much, I will be rather sad when it finally does sell in my Etsy shop!
This piece is one of my most imaginative. It's my rainbow mermaid siren queen tiara, made completely out of white, smoothed-down, bits of sea shells and extra large barnacles. The whole piece is painted as a sunset in acrylic paints. I always think of the Little Mermaid Disney movie, and a sparkling sea and a sunset, that was what inspired the color scheme here.
This piece was actually inspired by my boyfriend, who's last name is French for "Sun", and he had dressed up as the Sun King for Halloween one year. He never wore this piece, it was meant more as a sculptural type piece of artwork, but still functions quire well as a wearable tiara! I consider this a bit steampunk or tech or whatever, as it's got old computer parts on it, along with a snail shell, crabshell, bottle cap, and feathers springing out of the middle. Completely coated in shining red spray paint, and then artfully brushed-on sparkling gold acrylic paint. This piece is definitely one-of-a-kind.
I had some silk flower bits, craft birds, and vintage brooches, and this piece came into being. I love elf and woodland themed pieces, and I try to make them unique and interesting, since everybody on Etsy seems to love to make Elf tiaras also! This one is very lightweight, and a bright green, silken ribbon trails off either end of the tiara, making for the perfect Princess of the forest piece.
